Thunderbirds in Cheyenne, WY

If you ever get the chance to see the Thunderbirds in action, you should take that chance. They are really fascinating to watch. My friend Jill and I decided to drive to Wyoming with the kids to see these birds in action. It was killer!

Elitch Garden's (Six Flags)

We packed four field trips into one week. School started last week, so we had to get it all in. I was very tired but had two very happy kids. That is what we mom's do. We sacrifice our sleep, sanity and daily workout, just to make our kids happy. And happy they were! Maren braved her first upside down roller coaster. Sam could not be a shown up by his little sis, so he went on his first upside down roller coaster as well. After the "G" forces wore off, and their first initial shock was gone, they decided the roller coasters rocked! I couldn't be prouder. I remember going to Lagoon in Utah, many a summer and riding the upside down roller coasters with my Dad. I loved it, and still do.

Denver Aquarium

The kids love this place! Sam loves the rays and the sharks. Maren loves the sea horses and the jelly fish. We had a great day at the aquarium and came home to a dead sea snail. Sam's pet snail, Al G. had died. He cried and was very sad. We said a prayer for his friend Al G. and then went and bought a new one. R.I.P. our friend.

Sam's Rocket Launch

Sam made a rocket (with help from Dad) and launched it with the Cub Scouts. That thing launched so fast, I kept missing the take off! He got to launch it four times. He had that huge grin on his face all morning. What a great day.

Wildlife Experience

The kids love this place. Mace, Cate, Tyler and Trevor got to come with us. What a great day with the cousins.

Kansas with the Babcock's

Tyler had a meeting in Kansas, so we hitched a ride with him to see our friends the Babcock's. What a great time we had! The kids rocked it on the Wii, had loads of fun swimming, and almost killed the baby frog.

Nic and I transformed the master bedroom in a day. We repainted the bed, and both nightstands. We bought all new bedding, decorative accessories, a lamp and a picture for the wall. Our feet were black from all the painting. We stayed up until midnight and had a great time. Nic, I miss you already. I can't wait to come visit again!

Sam had a BIRTHDAY!

Sam turned nine on the 16th and had his first friend party. What a great white shark day it was! He had a shark pinata, decorated shark cookies, played sharks and minnows, and played a shark ring toss game. I made a shark cake too. Of course, the sharks mouth is a little bigger than I meant it to be. That is what you get when you use a twinkie and some fruit by the foot. The great white shark was his party invite

Fun on the 4th

We had a great Fourth of July. We got to see the town of Parker fireworks. They were a few miles from home. I had to pee so badly!! Of course, there was no bathroom in sight. I decided going behind a bush at the local elementary school was better than having an accident. I scanned the roof top of the school to scout out any peeping cameras. No cameras. I was in luck. So I ducked behind a bush to do my business, looked up and there was a camera staring me in the face! Crap! I was mid pee! What to do, ahhh? So I just waved at the camera, finished peeing, and ran as fast as a bunny away from that school! Some guy checking the surveillance camera got a good chuckle at my expense.

The Moyers were with us. They had a good chuckle too! Happy Fourth of July.
