"Tous en Selle!" The literal translation is "everyone in the saddle"...or, more idiomatically "Saddle up!"
It just seems kind of fitting for the way we live our life.
This is a gorgeous song by my favorite band in the world. Do yourself a favor, buy it on iTunes. It will be the best buck you ever spent. Christmas Lights by Coldplay
After 14 years we finally got rid of the denim sofa! I know, can you believe it?! The sofa is a chocolate velvet. We also got a chair to match. Tyler made the sofa table for me. He is going to make an end table soon. We added the splash of green above the fire place and some more green on the ladder shelf.
Tyler's work had a great party for the kids to go to. They had face painting, bob for apples, and a bean bag toss. "Jessie" and "Sam the Ghost" had a great time.
This is what happens to your face when you try to stop your bike by using your face. Maren ran into a fence while riding rather fast down a hill. She was terrified! Poor thing....
Look to the right, in the lake. There is a very creepy skeleton in the water! Check it out! Now I totally see how people think they see Jesus on a piece of toast! :)
We had a great chance to go to the mountains and camp with the kids. The weather was lovely, and the kids were great. Sam asked a stranger to show him how to gut a fish, and the nice man did! THe Moyer's came with us. Maren got to bring her friend Mary. It was so nice for her to have another girl with all those boys around!
I participated in two triathlons this summer! It was so fun. I did two relays with my siblings. I did the swim on both of them. It was really great to do such a fun thing with my sisters and my brothers. I love my family. The older I get, the more I realize what cool siblings I have. They all married great people too. The older I get, the more I realize again what perfect additions the in-laws have become to our family. I love you all and it really was privilege to participate in such an event. Thanks Mist, Blair, Kent and Cam for the memories.
It is always sad for me when the summer is over and school has to start. I much prefer the kids home. We always have so much fun together! We do Friday field trips and swim in the pool. We meet dad for lunch and go to the Lego store. We talk about the Constitution and watch the Thunderbirds fly. We go see the grandmas and the grandpas and the aunts, uncles, and cousins. We hang out and watch movies and sleep in. Ahhh. The life. Goodbye summer, until next year......
This zoo in Colorado Springs was killer! They let the kids feed the giraffas and the birds. We watched a baby orangutan for over an hour. He was so cute. We got to go with our friends the Gildehaus's. What a great day.
After we saw the Thunderbirds, we went on to Frontier Days. The kids had fun pretending to be in jail, and talking to the Mountain Man. I had fun shopping for these little diddies.
If you ever get the chance to see the Thunderbirds in action, you should take that chance. They are really fascinating to watch. My friend Jill and I decided to drive to Wyoming with the kids to see these birds in action. It was killer!
