Some of you may know that July 4th is my very favorite holiday. I feel so blessed to have been born in America. I love this country and it kills me to watch the politicians, on both sides of the aisle, ruin it. I have decided one of the best and most important things I can do to preserve my Constitution, is to teach it's principles to my kids every summer.
One of the leaders in my church, Elder Didier said this: Our most important need as defenders of liberty is to know what true liberty is, to teach it, to profess it, and to testify of it.
I am going to teach true liberty to my kids. I am going to teach them what the Pledge of Allegiance means, and the words to the Star Spangled Banner. If any of you want my curriculum, I would be happy to pass it on.
I am going to testify of true liberty. What a blessing it is to live in this country. What a blessing it is to have had the gospel restored in this country! I love this country. It is not a perfect one, but it is the most perfect of all the countries. (sorry my Canadian friends)
I am going to profess true liberty. If you do not like what is going on in our congress, senate, or your town. Go to the polls! The primaries are August 10th. GO VOTE! Change the things you do not like. Get rid of the old politicians and bring in some new blood. Come November, we can make a difference. Do it.
Hang your flag. Be proud to be an American. (Can you hear Lee Greenwood in the back of your mind right now? And I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free......)
God Bless America!

We're glad to be home, but we loved seeing the Fireworks in DC and getting to focus on the founding of our country! November here we come!
