Happy July 4th

Some of you may know that July 4th is my very favorite holiday. I feel so blessed to have been born in America. I love this country and it kills me to watch the politicians, on both sides of the aisle, ruin it. I have decided one of the best and most important things I can do to preserve my Constitution, is to teach it's principles to my kids every summer.
One of the leaders in my church, Elder Didier said this: Our most important need as defenders of liberty is to know what true liberty is, to teach it, to profess it, and to testify of it.
I am going to teach true liberty to my kids. I am going to teach them what the Pledge of Allegiance means, and the words to the Star Spangled Banner. If any of you want my curriculum, I would be happy to pass it on.
I am going to testify of true liberty. What a blessing it is to live in this country. What a blessing it is to have had the gospel restored in this country! I love this country. It is not a perfect one, but it is the most perfect of all the countries. (sorry my Canadian friends)
I am going to profess true liberty. If you do not like what is going on in our congress, senate, or your town. Go to the polls! The primaries are August 10th. GO VOTE! Change the things you do not like. Get rid of the old politicians and bring in some new blood. Come November, we can make a difference. Do it.
Hang your flag. Be proud to be an American. (Can you hear Lee Greenwood in the back of your mind right now? And I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free......)

God Bless America!

We Love You Todd

My cute brother Todd has been on his mission for one year today! Only one year to go. We miss you buddy. I am so proud of you too. You are a great leader and missionary. Keep up the hard work. Go to www.mormon.org to have a live chat with Elder LeeMaster, and learn more about the gospel.

Vegas Baby!

We drove to hot, miserable, nasty Las Vegas to see Grandma and Grandpa Selle. It was a great trip. We swam every day for several hours. We went to IN n' OUT burger three times (yum)! We saw Toy Story 3 (darling), and we got to see Doone and her kids. It was a great week. Thanks Fred and Judi for hosting us. Thanks for feeding us gourmet food every night, and thanks for letting us use the pool. The kids loved it.
My sisters, Tam and Tiff, and my Mom and Dad were making their way from LA to Utah. We met them at IN n' OUT burger for lunch. We only got to visit for an hour or so, but it was so nice to see them all.

Fun projects

I found both of these ideas on a blog. So I did them. I don't know where I am going to hang them just yet. I will keep you posted. The photo collage says "Selle EST 1994".

Maren's first friend Birthday Party!

This is the first friend party Maren has had. It was a great time. We did a cupcake party complete with a cupcake pinata, cupcake bean bag toss, pin the candle on the cupcake, and each child got to decorate their own cupcake. It was fun, and not too hot outside.
Misty's kids came too. Trevor was sneaking a taste of the frosting. Who knows how many time he double- dipped. And when it is that cute, who cares.

Maren is 7!

I can't believe my baby is seven! She is such a sweet girl. She tries so hard to be obedient, and to please us. She is so sweet to Sammy too. She really wanted a dog for her birthday, but she settled for Nintendogs instead. I got lucky for one more year. She got a fish last weekend, so I think the pressure is off for a few months. Hopefully her fish, Cody (nicknamed molly), lives a while.

She got a cupcake cake this year. That is some really blue frosting!

All the pretty Daffodils

These were taken at a graveyard in Steamboat Springs, CO.

Youth Conference

We took our youth group from church up to the mountains last weekend. We did a service project at a historical graveyard one of the days. It was really neat. There was a wooden headstone from a guy that was a Civil War Veteran. He was born in 1843 and died in 1907. This wooden headstone is over 100 years old. Pretty amazing.

This tree started growing right up the iron gate! I really thought this was cool. It is amazing what nature will do.

Cate is 8!

My niece Cate, turned eight last week. This is the cake I made for her. My friend let me borrow her cricut machine. The cake went together so easy using paper instead of frosting.

Fun with G&G Lee

We Love it when we get to see Grandma and Grandpa LeeMaster. G&G are on a mission in Salt Lake City, at the Church Office Building. We got to visit their mission not too long ago, and we even ate lunch in the cafeteria. They came to our house in Parker last week. It was great to see them again. We love you G&G Lee!

Severe Pain + fever + a bit of vomit= APPENDICITIS!

Tyler had his appendix taken out early Sunday morning. He was not feeling well on Saturday so I took him to the ER. At 1:20 am Sunday morning they rolled him into the OR for surgery. He was done by 1:50 am. Very quick. I had just fallen asleep and the surgeon came to tell me he was done. I brought him home Sunday evening, and he is doing very well. We both slept for 11 hours Sunday night. It was nice to sleep that long after being up most of the night on Saturday. I think he will take the week off of work, and church and he should be good as new.

Damn Deer!

Look at what the stinkin' deer did to my car! We were going to some friends house for dinner on Saturday night and a deer came out of nowhere. Tyler was not able to stop in time, so this is what happened. Not good. and to make matters worse, the deer lived! I think he should have died a slow painful death after what he did to my car, don't you? I do feel lucky that no one got hurt.

Turn Back Time

Sometimes I wish I could turn back the clock with our kids. They grow up so fast. A parent volunteer at the school was trying to convince Maren that she was Wonder Woman. She told Maren about all her super powers. Maren said, "I'm going to need some proof. I don't know about all these super powers you are talking about." When did she suddenly get old enough to need "proof" of anything? Before I can blink, they are going to headed off to college. I can wait.

Miniature Golf

I took the kids golfing with their cousins the other day. The sunshine was perfect as was the game of golf. Sam was pretty upset when he came to the 18th hole, and the hole swallowed up his ball. He didn't know that was going to happen. He was not a fan of that.

Crazy Weather!

I thought we were in the month of May! Does this look like May?
